The Typewriter Generation (TTG)

when you having coffee and bread for supper, no new messages in your phone and countable twitter followers, then you are yet to leave the "typewriter generation".

so what is the typewriter generation?
Umhh well do you have a friend who has these qualities

  • Dresses to hide their nakedness.....
  • Rarely lies about time........
  • Still holds on to his dear kabambe phone and has a black safaricom  line....
  • Still call clubs discos and are not apologetic...
  • They are good natured and gentlemen or ladies (please assume the fashion factor)...

Well most old folks fall under this and they really make me admire them. Looking at myself 5 minutes ago telling someone am in Eldoret while at the comfort of my Nairobi residence. moving on i schedule meetings on Gmail, dates on facebook and Follow people on twitter (not on foot). Of course i attend the facebook one while making excuses for the gmail one and i assume i never followed the chic am looking at (ego perhaps).

Typewriters were the whatsapp in those days , and emoticons were made with real lipstick and lips on paper (some didnt look human). What is so striking about the typewriter generation is how they conducted themselves, their respect for the other sex (am  a dude) and how honest they were. Parks were the place to go, KFC was still deciding dodo or chicken  and the bell bottom was a trouser that made ladies ring.

Compare that to  skinny jeans (zombies are offended), Supras (making safari boots look like dinosaurs),  and pathological liars (Siri joining the leauge soon), "gimme 5 minutes"...."just friends" (FRIENDZONED!!)..and much more.

I honestly think that if we can have the best of both worlds (my kabambe is now my ex) we could enjoy being gentlemen (typewriting not blogging) and still be exceptionally modern (go for all meetings)...where do you fall?

Kitengela for me!

Phew! the day is finally over. I have turned on the towering stereo in a manner that suggests i think i live in my own compound. Today i honour my Geography teacher who failed to tell me that Namanga is past Kitengela in a very special way. Today was quite a field day, leaving for Kitengela at around 9:00 am on a matatu, lucky i got back left though there were other passengers behind me. Our first serious stop was at Mlolongo where the car driver was harassed apparently by stage officials who claimed he was picking up passengers at the wrong place. We all had to alight the vehicle, what a waste of time!

Good thing we got another matau and did not pay for the other. Which reminds me i need to bank the savings from that trip. After a storm comes calm but not in Kitengela, on approaching the town the steward of the bus (Dondaa) spots two policemen and shouts "Haki ya Mungu makaro!, kila mtu a crouch". All standing passengers are forced to crouch I was the last standing passenger and the pressure i got from the others was too much. The stunt was brief and we soon stood up. On arrival at Kitengela town i was amazed at how it was, its a long time since i was in a growing town.

The town has everything you would need within your eyesight. Furthermore furniture there is better and cheaper so am not going to buy mine in Nairobi. We proceeded to Kasachu where we had gone to visit a greenhouse implementation project. The trip to Kasachu cost us only 50Ksh but the place surely was very far! ifor once i felt i had cheated the matatu. Kasachu is a nice place you can see a windmill two children s homes and plenty of livestock. It felt so out of town.

Lunch is the point i really want to emphasise. A half kg of roasted meat is only 200/Ksh everything else is cheapest. We had lunch for four people soda  and Fries and free Meat to entice us. Oh! and a one bedroom at the town centre goes for between 4000Ksh to 5000Ksh but there are business premises under your house. I do not mind as that is my water and elcetricity and Zuku bill in Nairobi. I think today i haven't complained about money because The environment in Kitengela was good.
Big ups Kitengela people!

How to tell your Brand Story- How i am doing mine

Good evening fellow nine to fivers! today i have 50Ksh mbele nyuma because the crisp notes belong to the landlord. I will be left with no option but to indulge in the buffet outside my penthouse, some ''Mutura" , madondo and Coffee Stratte (Strungi with coffee aroma). The harambee stars game on wednesday being my light at the end of the tunnel. A patriotic kenyan may pay for me to watch.

Otherwise as we love to say, today i had a very bright idea of printing my own money and branding it as my product. I know am a genius but i did not know how hard it is to tell a brand story . In my case it would be best in a police statement.

What is Brand Storytelling?

Simply put, brand storytelling is today's branding. A long time ago brands used to be very static. Nowadays brand keep on changing. The various avenues and outlets for information nowadays has eased the storytelling. Social media , television and other avenues have made businesses easily communicate their progress and changes to the world.
In brand storytelling you want to let your clients know about your future intentions, the problems you have had and how you solved them and most importantly how they have helped the brand be what it is. Is it that hard really? Its gonna be easy like me counting the grammatical errors in my article.

I do have a brand story to write today its about a brand i have grown with , loved , paid no rent and still loved it. Okoa jahazi and i still love it but now its solved my problems i think its going to be a great story.
Come on tell your story it may be what your brand needs. (author is now writing his brand story in a deep state of emotion)

5 Reasons Why You may have to Earn Money Online

I woke up today at around 6:00 am in the morning, quite late according to my standards. what shocks me though is the amount of time scrolling through my internet wannabe phone and my laptop which soon even class one students will have. By 10:00 am i should have done including making my bed , but i will sleep again so am justified.

Am now fully awake to reality as the text am reading right now goes something like"Sorry, you do not have insufficient...." you know the rest , i'll buy 1000 bob airtime with money from todays pinned post. It is an apology perhaps for the harsh reality mouth is free but "mouthpiece " is not. So today i'm going to tell you why you should be making money online. Forgive my mastery of the language, it is what makes me a blogger.

WHY WE SHOULD MAKE MONEY ONLINE

First of all we spend a lot of time online on our phones and laptops. We are either facebooking tweeting or texting or whatsapping. Imagine being paid per hour to be on facebook...FORGET IT!! no one will  BUT you can blog , have your own website, write articles  or start a group on facebook.
Let me start with the last as it is a personal favourite. Do you know Soko kuu, Gikosh Dotcom. All those are groups on facebook that make money. How?

HOW TO MAKE THE MONEY ONLINE

Simple, first you create a group with a purpose e.g selling, a group for dog breeders, models e.t.c and gather enough members. I say you get 5,000 members after  a month or less depending on how good you are. If your page has an audience that other businesses consider as potential clients e.g you have a group for models, modelling agencies, salons, cosmetics people would like to have a post pinned  on your page. They pay for that. For example as an administrator in Gikosh Dotcom we charge 300 ksh per pin per day while soko kuu charges around 2000 Ksh per pin per day. Gikosh is catching up fast you better join.

Now i have told you how facebook could make you money....I have a date with the barber today, I like my hair like my blog, Short and loose. Good day Blessed Sunday! Gosh the reasons are not even 5. Forgive I....(author has left the room and has not closed the incognito tabs).

How you should feel on Madaraka Day

The view outside from my window is quite absorbing, with planes circling above wilson airport  and the lights  like nearby stars complete the scene. I have just had some dry gin with some Chelsea gin at a friends house as we chatted over football and our ambitions. "Next weekend tuchome yanama Ole Polos" was repeated severally amidst the niceties and stories, that of course will be dejavu next weekend.

I live in a penthouse due to the fact that my two bedroom  house is adjacent to the roof. by around 9:30 pm  i am heading home as i cherish my samsung kabambe storm and would not do with another. This gadget has internet and torch on the same screen. I am thankful it has no okoa jahazi. Anyway to hit the nail on the hammer, oops i meant the other way, this chelsea gin is not as expensive as i thought. I think Uhuru kenyatta as  a leader is quite a motivator, he is like the coach Arsenal never had. For him to be at Nyayo stadium which apparently is within view from my balcony and also to attend the groove awards show that he is Chilled and Smart as i like to say. He is an example to the youth and aspiring hustlers in this country . if he can attend such an event and urge on everybody in the Industry to work harder. Not forgetting his Sidekick Hon William Ruto also the guy who is an inspiration to many hustlers like me , i wish them both all the best in life and blessings too.

Mosquitos are making too much noise in my house, i thought the neighbours were cooking nyama fry kumbe it was the damn insects buzzsing (buzzing and hissing sound). My english teacher and swahili teachers were the best by the way, blame me. I just had a good day and i am urging my fellow Kenyans to hold on to their dream sand focus on the one thing that they love to do. If we all do this even i will have articles as good as The Presidents speeches.
I love you Kenya! she is our country and i don't have to go out to be wit her. Twas her 50th miss independent anniversary. The tax on sin products should be.....(author fell asleep).
